Trawool Valley Legend Rides to the National Rally
They don’t come much tougher than Trawool’s own Tim Brew. One of the mighty Trawool Valley Whiteheads Creek Landscape Guardians that gave Infigen a towelling back in March, Tim is going to ride the 700km from Trawool, the place that’s “got it all” to Canberra to support the National Rally and to raise money for cancer research.
Make sure you flick a donation Tim’s way and look out for the Ironman at the Rally. Here’s a little taste of the “Magic” Brew.
Fundraiser Ride for Cancer Research
Hi to all my friends and those people I have met along the way.
Over the years I have had a few journey’s / episodes and life changing experiences.
It has been a good life and as it’s said “if it doesn’t kill you, it will only make you stronger!”
Nineteen months ago I was told that I had a grapefruit sized brain tumor (GBM), with 6 weeks – 18 months life expectancy. Now that is a hard pill to swallow!
With a 98% failure rate, I had to make a few Tim Brew lifestyle modifications, post surgery, radiation and chemo, which included riding 350kms on my bike on my last week of chemo.
Last week my MRI showed further signs of clearing (12 months post chemo).
Being on the GBM bus, I’m ready to jump off, though I am sitting next to great people, young and old. A lot of people get on the bus, not many get off! 1200 people are diagnosed with a brain tumor in Australia each year and there are 1100 deaths from this cancer each year.
I dream of being able to say to other people on the GBM bus ‘if I can do it you can too’. But with the current prognosis statistics these words cannot be said.
Dr Charlie Teo (neuro-surgeon) spoke with the American Congress two weeks ago lobbying to include brain tumor research into America’s Brain Research funding. He is trying to organise a global alliance for brain tumor research. A cure is in sight, but more help is needed.
Please help me in my fundraising attempt to raise money for brain cancer research.
I will be riding from Trawool, Victoria to Canberra 700kms for the ‘Cure for life Foundation’ from June 12th to 18th.
Your support will be greatly appreciated. You can sponsor me by going to my profile page on the Cure for Life Foundation website (see below) and click on the green button to donate. Please remember that any cash amounts you contribute, you can claim a tax deduction on donations over $2.
Thanks for all your support. Let’s do this together.
Cheers and see you at the Rally.
Tim Brew
Ps Jump on my bus not the GBM bus!
